Ok let’s assume someone has been arrested.  What we do next is very crucial,  but first  I will explain to you what’s will happen during the first couple hours.  Once an individual is arrested, he or she is then brought to station.  What station the individual goes to depends on the area of the arrest, and the arresting party. Most likely the arresting party will either be the Sheriff Department, Highway patrol, or the local Police department.  The accused after going to the station will then go through a process called Booking.Booking is when someone is fingerprinted checked for illegal substances and usually a picture is taken.  During this process the accused is also asked pertinent information like where they live what is there particular occupation, phone number and social security number.   After booking is when usually the accused is permitted to use the phone to make their phone call.  This time is very important because it’s when the accused can use the phone to let people know where he or she is.  This is how most of our clients find out that someone has been arrested. During the booking process the accused will then find out the charges formally being brought against them.  The charges are the actual Penal Codes that are designated for the particular crime the accused has been charged with.  Penal codes look like a series of numbers followed by letters detailing what code.  (For instance 11350hs)   The HS stands for health and safety. This particular series of numbers and letters tells us what the Bail amount should be.  The bail amount changes from county to county.  This is called a bail schedule. You can go online and search for the bail schedule in your particular county. Keep in mind though; the bail schedule can be changed with enhancements and other circumstances. Once this procedure   has taken place. The individual is then taken to a cell where he or she will await court.

The time factor varies.  Sometimes the jail is very busy.  A Friday night is one of the busiest times therefore the procedure can take much longer than usual.  Usual booking time is 1-3 hours.  Sometimes it’s longer.  Sometimes it’s shorter.  Many variables pose a key factor in the time frame.  So my best advice is be patient.  We understand how important it is to get your loved one out of jail.  You must understand we have no control over how long the jail takes to get an individual ready to be bonded out of jail.

When you call me I will then gather all the information and the relay back to you the charges and Bail amount for the accused.  This is known as Bail information and its absolutely free. You should never be charged for this.  It’s our absolute privilege to give you this information.  In fact this is what we are here for.
